This day camp is our inaugural camp targetted at young families with the aim of bonding through meaningful outdoor activities. You and your family will be going through a fun filled day of programming that challenges you physically, mentally and more importantly – opportunities to communicate with one another.
The Start: Shelter Building
As with any campsite, it is an apparent need to establish your shelter to store your belongings and shelter from the elements of weather. Families will be given a set of equipment to start off the challenge and the fastest teams will have an advantage in the next activity.
Challenge 1 : Not get lost
Families will now embark on a foot / public transportation based amazing race around central Singapore. Get to take in the sights of the Singapore River, try delicious food at Lau Pa Sat market and at the same time race around the clock to complete as many checkpoint activities as possible. Highest score and shortest time wins. Btw, a point system will be given to teams too.
Challenge 2: Capture the flag
After a quick lunch, you will get to experience something familiar in a good old “capture the flag” challenge with a twist. Families will be defending and attacking with nerf guns to advance and bring back your home flag. First to get all flags wins!
Challenge 3: Transform your waste
Next, we will head indoors to test our creativity in transforming our everyday waste items into something meaningful and “sellable” to the families. Let’s play our part to bring our day’s activities toward a carbon neutral goal and test our creativity in this upcycle project.
Challenge 4: Masterchef
Lastly, the points earned in the entire day’s activity will be used for a cook off auction. Families may bid for ingredients in order to put forward their dinner menu for the evening. Thereafter, teams will use whatever items that they have to present a beautiful dish and consume it within the twinkling lights of our CBD.
Closing: The campfire pitch
As the day draws to a closure, we will reflect on the activities and the challenges we have faced / overcome. Together we will come out stronger!
